The American Red Cross Wabash Valley Chapter

Welcome to the Wabash Valley Red Cross

GOODS AND SERVICES NEEDED BY THE CHAPTER
Updated 07-13-11

Air Compressor - a large air compressor (110 v) with hose suitable for airing up large truck tires.  We have 5 vehicles and 5 trailers  which always need attention.  Maintaining proper air pressure in the tires helps keep the vehicles safe and efficient.  Currently we have to find a convenience mart with a working air site to air up the tires.

Wheel Simulators - set 4 stainless wheel simulators for 8-lug 16" 87 Ford E350.  Our old ERV is looking a little ratty but it runs too well to scrap so we are hoping to bling it up a little.

10' Fiberglass or aluminum step ladder.  This is needed primarily for exterior maintenance but can also be used inside for maintenance of lights and ceiling tiles.  We do not have any ladders.

Lawn care equipment - the Chapter does not have any lawn care equipment and needs a push-type powered lawn mower (not self-propelled), a commercial grade string trimmer and a commercial grade leaf blower.  Our lawn is maintained weekly with the use of borrowed equipment.

Snow blower - although we do contract snow plowing for the parking lot we have to manually shovel all of the walks.  A snow blower would enable us to do this more efficiently and thus promote greater safety for staff and visitors during times of snowfall.

Floor scrubber/buffer - commercial size to maintain tiled floors (110v)

Trash bags - 55-gallon size

Trash Can - large exterior trash can similar to the curbside units used by Republic Services

Flags - air pollution and the weather are hard on our flags and we constantly need replacement American and State of Indiana flags in the 3' X 5' size.

Laptop computers with WIFI capability - we have 3 older laptops which we do use but on occasion for either training purposes or during times of widespread local disasters such as floods and tornados we could use several more.  We use our computers until they quit and are financially unable to 'keep up with the times' when it comes to advances in technology.

Flatscreen Monitors - we have 6 desktops which still use the very large older type of monitors.  Flatscreen monitors free up desk space and enhance the user's efficiency.

GPS Nav Systems - portable 12VDC for use in our vehicles, particularly late at night when our volunteers are called out to assist families who live out in the country

Storage totes - our garage is filled with item stored in cardboard boxes which have taken so much room we are unable to use all of our vehicle parking bays.  Stackable storage totes would make for more compact storage of those items which we keep on hand for emergency response.
